Clydesdale Dining

NO dining experience in Perth has the sophisticated yet relaxed atmosphere that Clydesdale Dining offers.

From the moment you step into the colonial styled, horse-drawn carriage, the hustle and bustle of Fremantle just evaporates.

Instead, the cars and the noisy revellers are replaced by dulcet jazzy tunes and the smooth, gentle pull of Sonny and Mate, the two Clydesdales the establishment is named after.

The carriage, which was built by Clydesdale Dining owner Alan Day, seats up to 15 people comfortably.

Featuring a three course dinner menu from Café Panache and a one course lunch menu from Rosie O’Grady’s, you are in for a culinary treat whichever Friday or Saturday night (or Saturday lunch) you choose to book this summer.

Clydesdale Dining takes off on its dinner journey around Fremantle from the Esplanade Hotel, with your selection of salt and pepper squid, smoked chicken and avocado salad or Caesar Salad entrees on board.

In the late evening, the light streaming through the carriage windows and refracting off the cedar interior brings a special warmth to the carriage, leaving you feeling at ease and content.

With the steady pace of Sonny and Mate clip-clopping against the cobblestones, there is no better or more relaxing way to visit the best of Fremantle’s historic sites.

After the first leg of the journey up the cappuccino strip to the E-shed markets, you return to the Esplanade to pick up your mains; a delicious selection of flame-grilled sirloin steak, or a grilled fillet of salmon or spinach and mozzarella chicken breast.

Driving past the scenes and sights of Fremantle, the carriage draws more than a little attention; so be prepared to be smiled at and waved to as you’re enjoying your classic yet gorgeous meal from one of Fremantle's best kitchens.

You finish up the delicious dinner with a delightful selection of deserts; including individual pavlova, French vanilla cheesecake and rhubarb and apple crumble.

While the food is great, Clydesdale dining is about so much more than a meal; it is a totally unique way of experiencing the best Fremantle has to offer.

It is the passion and hard work behind the scenes by Alan and his staff that has made Clydesdale Dining truly great.
