Does anyone remember the Secret? (I would normally place a link here but I think they have made enough money already. Also, everyone knows how to Google, right?)
The Secret was "discovered" by Rhonda Byrne, an Australian TV producer, in 2004.

I have always been under the impression that there were social niceties that everyone observed; universal knowledge learned by example and regulated by one's peers and the rest of the community.
But apparently I have been living in La-La Land, having dew-drop tea and enchanted scones with the fairy queen.

So, the gas crisis has finally forced people to be frugal with energy, which is good, but it is a little worrying that it took the threat of a beef shortage to drive us to it. (Yes, yes, I know other industries are affected too, but you wouldn't think it from reading the papers.)

How was Mother's Day this year for everyone?
My siblings and I were afraid to ask Mum what she wanted for Mother's Day, because she would have probably replied, "Grandchildren." So we took her (and the rest of the family) out for a nice meal instead.
I must say that I found the Mother's Day marketing frenzy quite frightening this year.
