THE Applecross Senior High School special tennis students have produced a clean sweep at the 2010 School Sport WA Champion Schools tennis event.
The lower school students continued the tradition in the Herbert Edwards Cup, winning the title for the 13th consecutive year.
In the boys all-Applecross final, the first team of Damien Rocky, Rafe Bonini, Shawn How Tow and Matthew Haynes defeated the second team of Anthony de Lima, Rhys Foo, Pierre Enjolras and Jordan Buxton by four matches to one.
It was also an all-Applecross final for the girls with the first team of Crista Santiago, Imogen Howes, Aura Becerra and Tessa McAllister defeating the second team of Kelly Howes, Sian Vinicombe, Annabelle Lim and Emeleen Wilson four matches to nil.
Applecross also won the prestigious Slazenger Cup competition for the upper school students.
The Applecross girl’s team of Astra Sharma, Jelena Glusac, Adela Nazifovic, Carla Welke and Doris Radicevic defeated Carine SHS in the final and the senior boy’s first team also won the Slazenger Cup competition in an all-Applecross final.
As a result of the victories, Applecross SHS is now invited to attend the School Sport Australia national championships in NSW in November.
